The signs of someone who may be abusing crack cocaine are very similar to those that one may experience when abusing powder cocaine.  Someone who is abusing crack with appear to be very energetic with very high highs and low lows. They will also appear to be malnourished because during a run, all someone will do is use this drug. Typically, users of crack tend to isolate and not come around loved ones for days at a time. A crack high is very much like a powder cocaine-high but it doesn’t last nearly as long.

Another obvious sign that someone is using crack is extreme paranoia due to lack of sleep and the drugs long term effect on the brain. Paranoia will also be coupled with extreme depression, aggression, delusion and antisocial behavior. Since this drug is typically used in binges, someone who is coming off of a run will crash and experience depression, irritability and long periods of sleep and lethargy.  Crack is typically smoked and users often tend to burn their lips and hands from heating their pipe up too much. Glass pipes and small baggies are all evidence of someone who is using crack cocaine.
